Our Story
From Casablanca to Amsterdam.
Abdel El Bouzidi learned the trade in Morocco and spent years behind the chair there before he ever saw Amsterdam. He opened The Barber Room in 2021, on a corner in the Jordaan, with one chair.
In 2024 he opened a second shop, two minutes behind Dam Square. Eleven barbers work across the two of them now, and between them they cut in nine languages, which in this city turns out to matter.
The work has not changed since that first chair: a cut that suits the head it sits on, a beard trimmed properly, a hot towel and a straight razor when the job calls for it. Both shops are open seven days a week. Walk in, or book ahead if you would rather not wait.
